That is probably a ture statement. Most red roses are really not red. Roses vary greatly in their coloration. Anything from red to deep red or maroon to burgundy.
If you want red you will have to check with your local florist to find what variety they can get in the true red coloration.
I would start with Rose Bagier, then Visa, Madame delBard, Charlotte and so on.
Then choose which rose you personally like better. All roses are beautiful to me but like the colors some roses have completely different shapes also. That is another blog entry on it's own.
